  • More packing units per pallet
    thanks to optimised packing arrangements

  • Planning in seconds instead of hours – with intelligent algorithms

  • Suitable for many packaging forms – whether rectangular, cylindrical, or complex

Perfect palletising with MultiPack

What seems simple at first glance – loading uniformly sized items onto pallets – actually has enormous potential for optimisation. Even with standard package sizes, it is often possible to transport significantly more than one might think.

Optimise your pallet loading with MultiPack at the touch of a button:

  • Fewer pallets, less transport, smaller storage space
  • Optimal use of storage space thanks to intelligent algorithms
  • Faster planning and better transparency with 3D visualisation

Whether Euro, Industrial, or non standard pallets: MultiPack understands all common formats, or lets you configure your own.

This will save you money, time, and CO₂ – and your logistics will be measurably more efficient.

The full range of functions

An explanation of the range of functions for MultiPack

Determine the best interlocked stacking

Do you want to plan interlocked stacking? MultiPack recommends the best interlocked stacking for you. Mirroring or rotation of a layer plan can create alternative interlocked stacking plans. You can also interactively modify both layer plans and pallet plans.

MultiPack calculates multiple optimal layout plans with structurally different layer configurations, in order to create a perfect interlocked stack. If mirroring or rotating the layer plans does not result in a satisfactorily result, a stable interlocking stack can be created by combining two different layer plans.

Make optimal use of stowage space height

Is the available height of the stowage space not being used satisfactorily because of the item dimensions? With MultiPack you can quickly determine if alternative vertical orientations of the item on the pallet (e.g. in the top layer) will result in a better use of volume.

Maximale Nutzung der Stauraumhöhe auf einer Palette – mehrlagiger Aufbau mit MultiPack berechnet

Better use of pallet stowage space by avoiding layers

Is the use of pallet stowage space unsatisfactory when palletising in layers? With MultiPack, you can also calculate optimal pallet stacking plans that do not require layer formation. This can have many advantages.

The illustration shows an example in which 99 items are loaded onto the pallet, layer by layer. With a non-layered palletisation, Multipack determines an optimal pallet stacking plan, with which 119 of these items can be loaded.

Perfect palletising with cylindrical, conical, and oval items

If for example, bottles, cans, rollers, or buckets, need to be stacked on pallets or other load carriers, MultiPack calculates in seconds the pallet stacking plans that provide maximum packing density.

Perfect palletising for items with complex contours

Multiscience has also developed industry and customer specific packing algorithms for items with other geometric shapes, with the aim of maximising the number of items on the pallet.

The illustrations show examples of optimal pallet loads for cardboard sheets and flat components with complex contours, which have been calculated using MultiPack.

Frequently asked questions about MultiPack

MultiPack optimises the packing of items of the same size in boxes or on pallets.

By contrast, MultiMix plans the packing of different sized articles in shipping packaging, on pallets, or in transportation such as trucks or containers.

For many packaging shapes, an optimal palletisation can be calculated: e.g. rectangular, cylindrical, oval, or even flat, complex item shapes.

Yes. Both layers can be combined in any order on the pallet. This means, for example, that column stacking (optimal stability of the item) can be used in the lower area, and interlocking stacking (optimal stability of the pallet) in the upper area.

MultiPack offers optional non-layered pallet loading. This can lead to significantly better pallet loading. Essity, Leitz, Villeroy & Boch and other customers use this option for some variations of their outer packaging.

Yes, with the interactive move mode, users can modify a layout plan as they wish. Items can be moved, deleted, or inserted.

With MultiPack, two different layer configurations can be combined on the pallet. In this way, it is often possible to achieve interlock stacking.

Yes, the user can change the default settings to display their own company logo.

No. The software runs on commercially available Windows systems. A more powerful computer is recommended for processor intensive tasks, for example a modern CPU with sufficient RAM.
